What has Trinity meant to
you?
Trinity has been more than a home in
San
Antonio – it has been a family community of professors
and friends, an intense environment to push myself scholastically, and a city
which has given much to me.
What will be some of your best memories of Trinity?
I'll always remember my advising sessions with Stephen Field, (Modern Languages
and Literatures) who has always pushed me to achieve anything I wanted to.
I will remember endless hours of conversation at
Java
City
with eclectic, exuberant friends. I will remember barbecues on Prassel
Lawn, playing at the outdoor pool, midnight Frisbee, and long hours of hard
work.
How has your education prepared you for life after college?
Trinity has prepared me to examine EVERYTHING with a critical eye – everything that
touches our lives and influences our days should never be accepted at face
value. In order to participate fully in society, in a career, or in life,
one must constantly ask questions. Analyzing implications of decisions is
just as important as good decision-making.
Favorite professors?
Stephen Field and Donald Clark (History) for giving me opportunities to expand
myself internationally; Steve Gilliam (speech and drama) for always supporting
my theatrical training and causes; and special mention to the Rev. Stephen Nickle
(University Chaplain) and Becky Spurlock (Campus and Community Involvement),
without whom my campus involvement would have never been the same.
Any life changing experiences?
The clarity and tenacity with which I pursued my future after studying abroad
and participating in two research grants defined my senior year. |
