Distinguished professor of economics; analyzes a range of wage issues, including the effects of working part-time versus full-time and the effects of military service on subsequent civilian earnings; also studies the racial composition of occupations and earnings in regulated or previously regulated industries such as the U.S. Postal Service, airlines, and trucking.
