Associate professor of sociology and anthropology; leads annual archeological excavations to uncover Maya artifacts and clues to Maya culture in Mexico; co-director of the Yalahau Regional Human Ecology Project, located in the Yalahau region in the state of Quintana Roo, which allows undergraduate students the opportunity to conduct field research; has researched the relationship between archeologists and the indigenous people they work with and study;
in addition, teaches on human evolution, primatology,
anthropological forensics, and pre-columbian art of Mesoamerica. |
