JOHN McCUSKER

Economic history of the United States and early British America; history of international trade and finance

Distinguished professor of history and professor of economics; known as an economic historian who has researched international trade and finance in the 17th and 18th centuries, focusing on the production, trade, processing, and consumption of sugar, molasses, and rum; has written 60 scholarly books, including How Much Is That in Real Money?; can convert prices from any time in the American past as far back as 1665 to their comparable value in today’s dollars; expert in the Eurodollar.
