Trinity University Ranked No. 1 For 14th Straight Year In U.S. News & World Report's "America's Best Colleges"
Each year the national news magazine ranks more than 1,400 colleges and universities and publishes a list of roughly the top 25 percent of schools. U.S. News & World Report bases its rankings on several factors, including academic reputation, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, and alumni giving.
Trinity had an overall score of 100 in the quality ranking and received highest marks for academic reputation. Trinity also had the greatest percentage of first-year students who were from the top 25 percent of their high school class and the University had the second highest graduation rate in the region.
In the ranking of great schools at great prices, U.S. News & World Report used a formula that related a school's academic quality to the net cost of attendance for a student who receives the average level of financial aid. As the magazine states, "the higher the quality of the program and the lower the cost, the better the deal." For the eighth consecutive year, and since U.S. News & World Report began the category, Trinity has been ranked the number one value of universities in the West.
Trinity's engineering science department was ranked 32nd among the best engineering programs at schools whose highest degree is a bachelor's or master's.
Trinity annually enrolls approximately 2,400 undergraduate students, roughly 10 percent from the San Antonio area, and the remainder from every region of the United States and from around the world.
Trinity University, founded in 1869, is one of the nation's top private undergraduate institutions. Noted for its superior academic quality, outstanding faculty, and exceptional academic and residential resources, Trinity is committed to the intellectual, civic, and professional preparation of its students.
