Hay Fever Kicks Off New Theater Season At Trinity University
SAN ANTONIO - Trinity University's Speech and Drama Department commences the 2005-2006 theater season with Noel Coward's comedy Hay Fever. The play will be staged in the Stieren Theater on Sept. 30-Oct. 1 at 8 p.m., Oct. 2 at 2:30 p.m., Oct. 5 at 7 p.m., and Oct. 6-8 at 8 p.m. Individual tickets are $6 for regular admission, $5 for senior citizens/faculty/staff, and $4 for students.
Considered to be Coward's best comedy, Hay Fever is set in 1924 at the home of the ultra-Bohemian Bliss family, where each family member has invited a guest to spend the weekend. The laughs are non-stop as the guests are greeted by one eccentric situation after another. Hay Fever is filled with romance, manipulation, sex farce, visual gags, and wit-all in Coward's style of wordplay and innuendo. The show will be directed by Stacey Connelly, and it will be the first of a musical comedy theme for the 2005-2006 season.
Reservations can be made by calling the Stieren Theater box office at (210) 999-8515 Monday through Friday between 2-5 p.m. or one hour prior to each performance.
