Trinity’s Health Care Administration Program Earns Prestigious
Magazine Ranking

SAN ANTONIO The health care administration department at Trinity University has been ranked as one of the top business graduate school for physician executives by Modern Healthcare magazine.

The program received a No. 1 ranking for the number of graduates from the program, about 1,700 since it began in 1966. The program, which awards master’s degrees, has demonstrated its dedication to excellence by receiving continuous accreditation by professional commissions that oversee such programs. The program was reaccredited most recently in June 2005 by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education.

The magazine, which is considered a leading industry source of healthcare business news, gave Trinity an overall ranking of No. 2. Trinity’s program tied with a similar one at Virginia Commonwealth University. The publication’s top-ranked health care administration program is at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Mary Stefl, professor and chair of the health care administration department at Trinity, was pleased with the ranking. She noted that the executive program attracts a mix of physicians and other practitioners, which contributes to a richer learning environment.

Trinity University is a nationally recognized liberal arts and sciences institution noted for its exceptional faculty and commitment to the comprehensive preparation of its talented student body. It is a learning community that has charted its course with a steadfast commitment.
