Trinity Speech and Drama Department to Launch 40th Anniversary Theater Season with a Holiday
SAN ANTONIO – Trinity University’s speech and drama department will kick off its 40th anniversary theater season with Philip Barry’s romantic comedy Holiday. The play will be staged in the Jane and Arthur Stieren Theater at 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29 and Saturday, Sept. 30; at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 1; at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4 and Thursday, Oct. 5; and at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6, and Saturday Oct. 7. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors/faculty/alumni, and $4 for students.
Known as “one of the outstanding successes of the New York theater,” Holiday takes place in the 1930’s when a self-made man falls in love with a society heiress and chooses to abandon big business and enjoy life as a “holiday.” Tension arises when his father-in-law runs his family like a tight ship, and director Kristin Crouch depicts this class warfare with humor and style.
Reservations are strongly suggested and can be made by calling the Stieren Theater box office at (210) 999-8515 Monday through Friday between 2 - 5 p.m. or one hour prior to each performance.
