Trinity's Health Care Administration Department Is Reaccredited
SAN ANTONIO - Trinity University's department of Health Care Administration has been reaccredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education. The reaccreditation status applies to both the department's traditional On-Campus Program and the Executive Program, each of which awards students master's degrees. Program alumni hold management and leadership positions in a variety of health care settings.
Mary Stefl, chair of the department, said the programs have been continuously accredited since 1968, although the agency performing the scrutiny has been known by another name, the Accrediting Commission on Education for Health Services Administration. "We are delighted to be recognized once again," Professor Stefl said. "Although the reaccreditation process is a lot of work, it is a growth process that helps us look at our programs in a systematic way."

In addition, the department's executive program recently was named one of the top business graduate schools for physician executives by Modern Physician.
The commission's next visit to the Trinity campus is scheduled for 2011.
