Missed Them at Cannes and Sundance? No Worry, Trinity Cinema Series to Debut International Films in San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO – Films screened at Cannes, Sundance, and at other international film festivals will get their San Antonio premieres at Trinity University’s Coates Library Cinema Series. Best of all, the showings are free and open to the public. The films, from different nations and in different languages, will be shown at the same time they are being released in commercial theaters.
The Cinema Series will run on Monday, Oct. 23, and Wednesday, Oct. 25, through Friday, Oct. 27, in Trinity’s Northrup Hall, room 040. Showtime for all films will be 7 p.m., and all films will have English subtitles.
The Coates Library Cinema Series will feature:
· Oct. 23 – Familia (Canada; French language; Best Canadian First Feature at the Toronto International Film Festival)
· Oct. 25 – A Peck on the Cheek (India; Tamil and Sinhala languages; Winner of six National Film Awards in India)
· Oct. 26 – Monster Thursday (Norway; Norwegian; Official Selection to the Sundance Film Festival)
· Oct. 27– Who's Camus Anyway? (Japan; Japanese language; Best Picture at the Tokyo International Film Festival and an Official Selection to Cannes and the New York Film Festival)
