Trinity University to Hold 2006 Winter Commencement

 

SAN ANTONIO -- Trinity University will hold its winter commencement for 116 graduates and undergraduates at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, in Laurie Auditorium. Thirty-five graduate students and 81 undergraduates are expected to receive their degrees.

 

Richard M. Burr, professor of business administration at Trinity University, will deliver the commencement address. Burr received the Dr. and Mrs. Z.T. Scott Faculty Fellowship Award during the Spring 2006 commencement. The award is given annually for excellence in teaching, advising, and service to students.

 

David D. Shank of Houston will speak on behalf of the senior class. Shank is a triple major in international studies with a concentration in Middle Eastern studies, economics, and political science. At Trinity, he was president of Phi Sigma Chi and was a senator with the Association of Student Representatives. After graduation, he plans to explore a position with the Texas Legislature for the spring and plans to attend law school in the fall.
