Trinity University’s Speech and Drama Department to Stage You Can’t Take It With You
SAN ANTONIO – Trinity University Theater’s 2007-2008 season will close with a production of Pulitzer Prize winning play by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart’s You Can’t Take It With You. The show will be staged in the Jane and Arthur Stieren Theater at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 18 and 19; at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 20; at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, April 23 and 24; and at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, April 25 and 26. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for senior citizens, and $4 for students.
The play is set in the Great Depression and revolves around the extended family of the Vanderhofs in a house full of dreamers, anarchists, stray delivery men, and exiled Russian royalty. Alice Sycamore falls in love with her boss’ son and when the boss’ family drops in on the eccentric family, order and chaos collide and explode with hilarious results.
