Trinity University Ranked as Best Value in Kiplinger’s Magazine

SAN ANTONIO – Trinity University has been included in Kiplinger’s 100 Best Values in Private Colleges list, a college ranking of the best value among private liberal arts colleges and universities.  The magazine ranked Trinity at 23 on the list of private universities. The results appeared in the February 2009 issue of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine.

According to the magazine, the Kiplinger’s rankings measured academic quality and affordability, with quality accounting for two-thirds of the total.  The guide began by compiling data on more than 600 institutions before developing two lists of 50 schools: the first list consisting of liberal arts colleges and the second list composed of universities.

Among the factors the Kiplinger’s list used in compiling the lists included total costs, undergraduate enrollment, admission rates, student/faculty ratios, and four year/five year graduation rates, and average debt after graduation.

Other schools on the university list included Rice University, Stanford University, Brown University, Cornell University, Boston University, Baylor University, and the University of Richmond.

Kiplinger’s list can be found online at http://www.kiplinger.com/tools/privatecolleges/ataglance_prv_univ.html?kipad_id=50.
