Sr. Joan Chittister and Fr. Richard Rohr to Speak at Trinity University

 

SAN ANTONIO – Sister Joan Chittister and Father Richard Rohr will speak during the FAITHANDREASON® seminar, “The Human Spirit and the Times We Live In” on Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2, in Laurie Auditorium.  The seminar is free and open to the public, but registration is required. A $35 donation is suggested.  Box lunches are available for $8 per person, payable in advance.

The seminar will start Friday at 7:30 p.m. with Sister Chittister’s lecture “The Divine Feminine: Its Place in Our Lives.” Father Rohr will lecture at 9 and 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning and Sister Chittister will present her lecture again at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.  At the seminar’s conclusion, both speakers will their sign books which will be available for purchase in the auditorium lobby.

 

Sister Chittister is founder and director of Benetvision: A Resource and Research Center for Contemporary Spirituality. A best selling author, she serves as co-chair of the Global Peace Initiative of Women, a partner organization of the United Nations, facilitating a world wide network of women peace builders. 

 

Father Richard Rohr is a Franciscan priest of the New Mexico Province.  He founded the New Jerusalem Community in Cincinnati and Center for Action for Action and Contemplation in New Mexico.  He travels internationally speaking on politics and spirituality, embracing the role of the prophet in the modern world, and presence to the Eternal Now.
