Trinity University Names New Director of Campus & Community Involvement
SAN ANTONIO – Raphael X. Moffett, a student life leader with experience in programming, orientation, Greek life, leadership development, and diversity knowledge, has been appointed director of Campus & Community Involvement at Trinity University. He most recently served as director of student life at Morehouse College.
Dr. Moffett believes college graduates “come out a different person” and said he sees it as his job to guide students toward the co-curricular experiences, skills, and knowledge they want and need to develop into the person they want to be. “What I do doesn’t feel like work at all,” he said.
Before arriving at Morehouse and Trinity, Dr. Moffett held positions in the Office of African American Student Services and Programs at Georgia State University and in the Department of Residence Life at Clark Atlanta University. He also has experience teaching and has participated in cultural immersion programs in Egypt and Brazil.
“His reputation in the field as a strong student advocate, educator, and practitioner will be a seamless fit with the Trinity community,” said Felicia J. Lee, vice president for Student Affairs at Trinity.
A native of Olympia, Wash., Dr. Moffett earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Washington State University and a master’s degree and doctorate in educational leadership from Clark Atlanta University.
The Office of Campus & Community Involvement is part of Trinity’s Student Affairs division. Trinity University is a nationally recognized liberal arts and sciences institution noted for its exceptional faculty and commitment to the comprehensive preparation of its talented student body. It is a learning community that has charted its course with a steadfast commitment to excellence since it was founded in 1869.
