Trinity All-American is Coordinator of Marketing/Promotions
San Antonio – Emily Loeffler, a Trinity All-American in women’s cross country and track and field, is serving as the University’s Department of Athletics Coordinator of Marketing and Promotions. Ms. Loeffler is on a two-year internship where she is developing marketing and promotions strategies for all of Trinity’s 18 intercollegiate sports. The position is an NCAA Division III Ethnic Minority and Women’s Internship. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Trinity in May 2009 in business administration, with a concentration in marketing and management. Ms. Loeffler minored in physical education. Ms. Loeffler is assisting in the development of the new Athletics Web site – scheduled to launch the weekend of Nov. 6-8 – and with media guides, recruiting brochures and game-day programs.
The versatile Ms. Loeffler earned All-America honors on four occasions. She placed fifth in the 5,000 meters at the NCAA Division III Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships in March 2009. She garnered an All-America award at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in May 2009, with an eighth-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Ms. Loeffler became Trinity’s first-ever cross country All-American (17th place at the 2008 NCAAs) and also attained the distinction in the steeplechase (third place) at the 2008 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. She is the recipient of the NCAA Ethnic Minority Scholarship for Careers in Athletics. In addition, Ms. Loeffler was president of Trinity’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Ms. Loeffler, a resident of San Antonio, is a 2005 graduate of O’Connor High School.
