Trinity University Appoints New Dean
of Admissions and Financial Aid

May 18, 2000  - Christopher J. Ellerton has been appointed dean of admissions and financial aid at Trinity University.  Ellerton was chosen after a national search.  As the University's chief enrollment officer, he will oversee the admissions and financial aid offices, including Trinity's $12 million financial aid budget.

"Chris Ellerton stood out because he is incredibly energetic and has a firm grasp of the increasingly complex admissions process," says Bonnie Flake, director of alumni relations and a member of the search committee.  "This is an exciting time to be at Trinity University," says Ellerton.  "I want to make people across the nation aware of the educational opportunities Trinity offers.  I'm joining a University with excellent resources, which excels in personal attention to students and offers a curriculum that is the best of all possible worlds--combining traditional liberal arts and sciences with pre-professional programs."

Ellerton was formerly the director of admissions at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington.  He received his B.A. from Otterbein College and his M.A. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Trinity University, founded in 1869, is a highly selective, professionally-oriented liberal arts and sciences institution.  This residential, primarily undergraduate coeducational university is noted for its superb facilities and undergraduate research opportunities.  Through its academic and co-curricular programs, Trinity seeks to develop leaders with high moral and ethical standards.  It is a learning community that has charted its course with a steadfast commitment to excellence for more than 130 years.
