Feb. 11 – Guest Piano Recital. Timothy Woolsey, professor
of piano at Southwest Texas State University, will perform a program
that will include four sonatas by Scarlatti, a sonata by Beethoven,
and preludes and etudes by Rachmaninoff. He will also perform “Pachel’s
Bells” by Dan Welcher.
Professor Welcher has given more than 100 performances during the
past several years including a solo recital at the National Gallery
of Art. He has commissioned work by Texas composers and recently
recorded some of the compositions with Centaur Records. Ruth Taylor
Concert Hall, 8 p.m. Admission is free.
Feb. 18 – Trinity Faculty Recital. Linda McNeil, soprano,
and Carolyn True, piano, will perform together in a faculty recital.

Feb. 23 – Concert by Istanpitta. Istanpittta is a visiting
early music ensemble that specializes in songs and dances from the
Medieval and Renaissance eras. The ensemble will perform a concert
titled “Chevrefoil,” which is based on the legend of ill-fated lovers
Tristan and Isolde. Margarite B. Parker Chapel, 2 p.m. (a pre-concert
lecture starts at 1:30 p.m.) Admission is free.
Feb. 25 – Concert by the SOLI Chamber Ensemble. The SOLI
chamber will perform a program titled “American Anthem” with special
guest soprano Joan Heller. The program will include “Aria II” by
Pozzi Escot, “Celan” by Robert Cogan, “Patterns in Blue” by Simon
Sargon, and “Far From Love” by Thomas Pasatieri. Ruth Taylor Concert
Hall, 8 p.m. Admission is $10 (free with a Trinity student ID card.).
