Distinguished Professor of Business Administration to Look at Pitfalls in Investing

Dec. 12, 2003 It’s an old story that rings true for too many investors:  How can you end up with a small fortune? Start with a large one!  Philip Cooley, Trinity University Prassel Distinguished Professor of Business Administration, will offer some advice on avoiding investing mistakes during a Food for Thought luncheon lecture.  His presentation, “A Brief History of Stock Returns: Lessons Learned,” will take place at noon on Wednesday, Jan. 14, in the Coates Center Fiesta Room. Tickets for the luncheon are $14 and reservations should be made three days prior to the event by calling the alumni relations office at (210) 999-8404.

For his presentation, Professor Cooley will set his sights on Wall Street for a historical look at stock returns.  Using the past as a guide, he will speak on what lessons may be learned in order to avoid investing troubles in the future.

The Food For Thought series offers Trinity professors the opportunity to leave the classroom and to speak on their research or field of study to the San Antonio community.  The series is sponsored by the San Antonio chapter of the Trinity University Alumni Association.
