AWARD WINNING ORGANIST TO GIVE RECITAL AT TRINITY UNIVERSITY

Organist Jonathan BiggersSept. 7, 2001 - The Parker Chapel Recital Series will present Jonathan Biggers, professor of organ at Binghamton University in New York, as its featured performer of classical organ pieces at 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21 in Trinity University’s Parker Chapel. Admission is free and open to the public.

His program will include Final from Symphonie VI by Widor, Two Settings of Allein Gott in der Höh sei Ehr by J.S. Bach, Fantasy in F-minor by Mozart, "Trois Danses by Alain, and Prelude and Fugue in B-major by Dupré.

Michael Barone of the American Public Radio program "Pipedreams" has called Dr. Biggers one of the most outstanding young concert organists in the United States.

Dr. Biggers has won numerous competitions througout the United States, Canada, and Europe.  His recordings for the Calcante music label have also won wide acclaim.
