Trinity University Professor Receives Promotion |
| Sept. 10, 2002 – Judith Norman has been promoted to associate professor in the department of philosophy and granted tenure at Trinity University. Professor Norman came to the University in 1996 as an assistant professor. Professor Norman received her bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from Carleton College in Northfield, Minn. She attended the University of Bonn in Germany on a Fulbright Scholarship and later received her Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She is the author of several articles including “The Logic of Longing: Schelling’s Philosophy of Will” in the British Journal for the History of Philosophy, “Nietzsche contra Contra: Difference and Opposition” in Continental Philosophy Review, and “Squaring the Romantic Circle: Hegel’s Critique of Schlegel’s Theories of Art” in Hegel and Aesthetics ed. Professor Norman has also published translations of books and articles including Beyond Good and Evil by Friedrich Nietzsche and “Schelling and Sartre on Being and Nothingness” by Manfred Frank for The New Schelling.
