Trinity Music Department to Present
March Events

Feb. 25, 2003 ­ The Trinity University music department will present the following events in March: 

March 1 ­ Concert by Cavani String Quartet. The Cavani String Quartet, winner of the prestigious Naumberg Chamber Music award, will perform at Trinity as part of the Stieren Arts Enrichment Series.  The quartet will perform Quartet in D, Op. 20 #4 by Franz Joseph Haydn;  String Quartet #4 by Bela Bartok; and Quartet Op. 96, “American” by Antonin Dvorak. Ruth Taylor Concert Hall,  8 p.m. Admission is free.

March 4 ­ Guest Piano Workshop.  Gustavo Tolosa, director of the piano division at Abilene Christian University, will give an informal presentation on the music of Argentina. Ruth Taylor Concert Hall, 8 p.m. Admission is free.

March 6 ­ Concert by Trinity Symphony Orchestra.  The Trinity Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of music professor Ken Greene, will perform Symphony #104 "London”  by Franz Joseph Haydn; Pavane for a Dead Princess by Maurice Ravel;  Prelude: 49th Parallel, a short film score by Ralph Vaughan Williams; and Capriccio Espagnole by Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov. Ruth Taylor Concert Hall, 8 p.m. Admission is free.

March 18 ­ Faculty Recital. 
 Jan Roller, trumpet, and Peter Kline, trombone, will perform in a faculty recital. Ruth Taylor Concert Hall, 8 p.m. Admission is free.
