Trinity Music Department to Present Piano Recital of Beethoven Sonatas |
| Jan. 23, 2003 – The Trinity University Music Department will present guest pianist John Krebs, who will perform a program of sonatas by Beethoven. The recital will begin at 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31, in the Ruth Taylor Concert Hall. The event is free and open to the public. A native of Iowa, John Krebs holds degrees in piano performance from Northwestern University, the University of Illinois, and the University of Maryland. He has also studied at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Freibug, Germany. He is currently an associate professor at Hendrix College. Professor Krebs has recently completed a term as president of the Arkansas State Music Teachers Association. The all-Beethoven program will include Sonata in F Minor, Opus 2, Number
1; Sonata in E-flat Major, Opus 27, Number 1; Sonata in F-sharp Major,
Opus 78; and Sonata in C Major, Opus 53. |
