| September 10, 1999 - Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich and Washington Postinvestigative editor Bob Woodward will be two of the participants in Trinity University's
1999-2000 Policy Maker Breakfast Series. Along with Gingrich and Woodward, the series will include CNBC financial anchor Ron Insana and former presidential press secretary Mike McCurry. All events will start at 7:30 a.m. at the DoubleTree Hotel.
The dates and the titles for this years Policy Maker series are:
Ron Insana - Tuesday, October 5, 1999, "Street Signs." Insana is the host of the newly expanded Street Signs, a financial show on CNBC. He also provides regular business reports to MSNBC, NBC's Today show and Nightly News with Tom Brokaw. He is the author of Trader's Tales, a book comprised of anecdotes about Wall Street life.
Bob Woodward - Tuesday, December 7, 1999, "The Making of the Presidency." Woodward is an assistant managing editor of the investigative division of the Washington Post. Woodward, along with reporter Carl Berstein, received the Pulitzer Prize for their series of reports on the Watergate scandal. Woodward is also the author of the book Shadow: Five Presidents and the Legacy of Watergate, published earlier this year.
Newt Gingrich - Thursday, February 24, 2000, "Risky Business--The Politics of the New Millennium." Gingrich, former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, is now the C.E.O. of The Gingrich Group, a communications and management consulting firm. He also serves as a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C. and a visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University.
Mike McCurry - Tuesday, April 4, 2000, "My Side of the Podium." McCurry served as Assistant to the President and Press Secretary to President Clinton from 1995 to 1998. Prior to joining the White House, McCurry served as director of communications for the Democratic National Committee.
