Trinity University Professor Receives Promotion

Sept. 10, 2002Kate Ritson has been promoted to full professor in the department of art and art history at Trinity University.  Professor Ritson came to Trinity as an assistant professor of art in 1990.

She received her bachelor’s of fine arts degree from the New York State College of Ceramics, Alfred.  She was awarded her master’s of fine arts from the Mason Gross School of Art at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J.

Professor Ritson’s work is included in several public collections, including the McNay Art Museum in San Antonio, the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art at Utah State University in Logan, and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts in Sweet Briar, Va. Her work has also been exhibited across the country at locations such as the Jacksonville Museum of Contemporary Art in Jacksonville, Fla.; the Amy Graves Ryan Fine Arts Gallery at McMurry University in Abilene, Texas; the Blue Star ArtSpace in San Antonio; and the Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts in Wilmington, Del. Most recently, she was named Artist of the Year: 2002 by the San Antonio Art League Museum.
