As co-chair of the Trinity University Student Ambassadors, Mr. Boyce has represented the University in talking with major donors and prospective donors, with distinguished guest speakers, and a variety of external audiences. He also helped coordinate the single largest fund-raising activity on campus, the Trinity National Phonathon. He was a finalist for the 2002 Gagliardi Trophy, an award to the outstanding football player in the NCAA Division III that honors excellence in athletics, academics, and community service. He was captain of this year’s Trinity Tigers and was named a third team All-American last year by d3football.com. He also has been selected three times for the All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference First Team.
She was named Tour Guide of the Year and was a leader in a campus effort to raise more than $11,000 for the American Red Cross after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Miss Larkins also helped organize a panel discussion about terrorism after those attacks, an event that drew more than 1,500 to Laurie Auditorium on the Trinity campus. She also was a camp counselor at St. Luke’s Episcopal School, where she was lauded for her ability to relate well to children. In nominating Miss Larkins for the service award, Linda Salvucci, associate professor of history, wrote, “The University could not ask for a better representative to the community at large than Christi Larkins. Her dedication and enthusiasm are infinite and extend Trinity’s reputation in so many ways.” |
