Trinity University Ranked No. 1 for 12th Straight Year in U.S. News & World Report’s “America’s Best Colleges”

Aug. 22, 2003 For the 12th consecutive year U.S. News & World Report’s “America’s Best Colleges” guide has ranked Trinity University No.1 among colleges and universities that offer a full range of undergraduate and select master’s level programs in the Western part of United States.

“We are very proud to once again be recognized as one of the nation’s best colleges. Trinity’s superb faculty and staff work hard to provide the most relevant college education for America’s most talented, purposeful students,” said Trinity President John R. Brazil. “One of Trinity’s greatest assets is our vibrant and culturally rich host city, San Antonio, and it is gratifying that Trinity continues to attract such favorable attention to the San Antonio community.”

In addition to receiving a No. 1 quality ranking, Trinity’s engineering science department was ranked 22nd among the best engineering programs at schools whose highest degree is a bachelor’s or master’s. 

U.S. News & World Report bases its rankings on academic reputation, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, and alumni giving.

Trinity had an overall score of 100 in the quality ranking. The University received the highest marks for academic reputation and had the second highest graduation rate.

Trinity annually enrolls approximately 2,500 students, 14 percent from the San Antonio area and the remainder from every region of the United States and from around the world.
