| INFLUENTIAL ACTIVIST TO SPEAK ON THE ROLE OF THE ORDINARY CITIZEN AS PART OF TRINITY'S WILLSON LECTURE SERIES |

Sept. 26, 2001 - Joan Brown Campbell, director of the department of religion at the Chautauqua Institution and an instrumental player in the return of Elian Gonzales, will give a presentation titled “Beyond Boundaries: What role can an ordinary citizen play?” at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 8, in Chapman Auditorium. Admission is free and open to the public. Before her work at the Chautauqua Institution, Dr. Campbell served as the general secretary of the National Council of the Churches of Christ in the USA and as executive director of the United States office of the World Council of Churches. She performed such high profile duties as accompanying President Clinton as a member of the official delegation to the funeral of Yitzhak Rabin and as a member of his delegation to Africa in 1998.
