The Live Oak Community Center at Government Hill team included Peter Senior, Hannah Pobanz, Brian Rusk, and Benjamin Bachus. “One of the goals we had was to create a transitional site to adapt to the seasons and to daily schedules,” said Mr. Senior.
A resident manager and his or her family would oversee all the activities of this community-centered project.
“The Live Oak Community Center is a zero-net energy building that takes the concept of the home and from that, grows a community center,” the students wrote in their project’s “home manual.”
The team cited many inspirations for their flexibly designed community space, including the San Antonio Missions and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
