IMG_8029 - This fall, the television facilities in Trinity's Richardson Communications Center underwent a major transformation from analog to 1080i high definition digital. This major conversion was made possible thanks to a grant from AT&T.

IMG_8033 - The television control room and the studio were completely reconfigured in the $1.6 million renovation. All of the obsolete analog equipment was replaced with digital equipment, including more than a dozen video moniters, a video switcher, a bank of computers, and a multi-channel audio board.

IMG_8037 - All new video production and recording equipment was installed so programs and projects from the studio will be able to be broadcast the same quality as local HD television stations.

IMG_8060 - Five new state-of-the-art Sony studio cameras have been added to Trinity's Studio A and two new robotic HD cameras will be used in satellite newsroom area located in the Richardson Communications Center.

IMG_8050 - Operations Manger James Bynum and Communication Chair William Christ have been working on this project for more than a year in consultation with Beck Associates of Austin Texas. Fred Beck, the owner of Beck Associates, personally oversaw this project.

IMG_8054 - Interestingly, Beck's father, Al Beck, engineered the original RCC television equipment installation in the 1970’s. Al Beck also worked on the communication staff as the television engineer for the television facilities/
