By James Hill 76

June 2010 – Two of Trinity’s national champions have been elected to the ESPN The Magazine College Division Academic All-America Teams.

Academic All-America Todd Wildman
Academic All-American Diver Hayley Emerick

Todd Wildman, a recent Trinity graduate, made the Men’s Track and Field/Cross Country Academic All-America Team for the second straight year. Hayley Emerick, who will be a senior diver in the fall, was selected for the Women’s At-Large Academic All-America Team.

Voting is conducted nationwide by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Wildman, from Dallas Jesuit, majored in business administration with an emphasis in accounting. He earned a 4.0 grade point average in his first semester as a graduate student, while making the Dean's List numerous times throughout undergrad.

The talented Wildman is a two-time national champion, winning the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Pentathlon Championship in 2009 and 2010.  He won numerous Regional Runner-of-the-Year Awards and Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference championships. This year, Wildman was awarded with the prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. He was also given the Trinity Award for Student Achievement in Scholastics and Athletics.

Emerick, who graduated from Gregory-Portland High School in Portland, Texas, is a business administration/marketing major with a 3.66 grade point average.

She won the NCAA Division III Women’s 3-meter Diving Championship last March in Minneapolis. Earlier, Emerick was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Female Diver of the Meet, for the third year in a row.
