Meredith Elsik Receives Helen Heare McKinley Classified Employee Excellence Award
By Mary Anthony
Meredith Elsik, library assistant
at the Coates Library, is the December recipient of the Helen Heare McKinley
Classified Employee Excellence Award. The McKinley Award honors a deserving
member of the classified staff each quarter.
“Meredith’s service at the
library’s Help Desk is exemplary ... and she is an invaluable resource for
students, faculty, and community members,” said Benjamin Harris, assistant professor
and reference librarian. “She’s a ‘can-do’ person who always has (a positive)
attitude, and by example, she encourages this attitude in others.” In addition to a certificate,
the recognition includes a cash award. The next McKinley Award will be announced
in March, and the next deadline for nominating a recipient is May 5. For more information,
