Memo to Trinity Community

The presidential search committee began work in earnest on February 20.  At our first meeting we initiated the process of selecting an executive search firm and established an ambitious time line for completing that phase of our work.  The deadline for requested proposals, which are being sought from the top executive search firms across the country, is February 27.

Submitted proposals will be reviewed at our second meeting on March 5. At that time, we will select several finalists who will be brought to campus for a series of committee interviews on March 19 and 20. Shortly thereafter, and based upon the outcome of those interviews, the committee will announce its choice.

Concurrently, we are working on a statement of prioritized qualifications to be submitted to the Board of Trustees for their review during a specially called meeting of the Board on March 12 and 13.  The final document will serve as a guide from which the search firm and the committee will prepare a formal position description.  

The formal position description document, together with additional updates and other pertinent information, will be shared via periodic memos as well as posts to the presidential search Web site at www.trinity.edu/presidentialsearch.

Throughout this process, input from the entire Trinity community about qualities sought in the next president is welcomed, and comments may be sent electronically to presidentialsearch@trinity.edu. Alternatively, you may send a letter to Trustee Chairman George C. (Tim) Hixon or me at either of the addresses listed below.

As Mr. Hixon noted in announcing the presidential search committee, we are committed to selecting a president who will build firmly upon the achievements of the Brazil presidency and bring further recognition and honor to this extraordinary University.
