Parents Find Information and Support Dealing with
Students’ Lives on Campus in E-Mail Community

Life can be tough for parents when their son or daughter moves away to college.  How can moms and dads get a taste of what campus life is like without annoying their college student with too many letters, phone calls, or e-mails?  Trinity University has found a way to involve parents in campus life with an e-mail connection called Parent Talk.

Parent Talk is an e-mail community where parents with questions about college life, such as the closest place to get a hair cut or the safest place for a body piercing, can get answers from other Trinity parents.  Mothers and fathers on Parent Talk also offer support to other parents who are, for the first time, dealing with empty nest syndrome.

Additionally, a unique feature of  Parent Talk is that it offers a direct line of communication with Trinity.  David Tuttle, dean of students, monitors Parent Talk, and offers answers to questions parents have about  the University. And once a week, he sends parents a list of upcoming Trinity activities.

To learn more about Parent Talk, contact Russell Guerrero at (210) 999-8406 or e-mail at russell.guerrero@trinity.edu.
