New ASR President Wants to Serve Students
By Adam Sanchez-Guerrero ’08

Pamela Adornato can’t be more thrilled about being the new president of the Association of Student Representatives. “Whew, that was a close one. Every vote really counted,” she says of last spring’s presidential race. Pamela’s main goal as head of Trinity’s student government organization is to “reconnect ASR to the student body.  I think we should be a resource for students and a platform for students to impact the school.” This promise is a very important goal that promotes a healthy relationship between the Trinity student body, faculty, and staff. When students feel the need to voice concerns of any kind to the University, Pamela wants students to know that ASR is working for them. She states, “The ability of students to have a say in how their University runs is an incredible privilege.  Student government, along with all of the other organizations on campus, ensures that student voices are generally heard when decisions are made.”

Pamela is a graduate of Garland High School (class of ’04) and is working on her double major of political science and economics. Her favorite aspects of Trinity are “the faculty and the students. Both are incredible resources for Trinity and provide amazing opportunities to learn.” She spent this summer in Washington D.C. interning for the U.S. Supreme Court. She has been involved in ASR since the end of her first year on campus. When asked if she has any advice to the incoming first years, she shares this wisdom: “Be open-minded.  Be honest with yourself. Allow yourself to change and grow.  College is an opportunity.  Make the most of out it.”  Pamela steps into a position that has seen the very best of Trinity’s student body, and she is more than qualified to take the helm.
