Answers to some frequently asked questions appear below:

  1. How do I log on to TigerPAWS?  Go to www.trinity.edu/tigerpaws and click on the appropriate menu.  To log on, enter your username (i.e. wsmith) and password.   Initial passwords MUST be changed during your first session.
  2. Who do I contact if I have problems accessing the TigerPAWS system?  Contact User Services at 999-7409 or by email, helpdesk@trinity.edu
  3. Will students have to register online?  No. While online registration is preferred, students who need help can come to the Office of the Registrar for assistancet.  Students will only be allowed to register in person beginning at their assigned time period.
  4. Do faculty advisors register students?  No.  Students register themselves on TigerPAWS.  However, the system will not allow students to register until the advisor has cleared them to do so using the online Advisor Approval screen.
  5. How can advisors access the Advisee Approval Screen? The Advisee Approval screen is now available.  You may view the screen at http://www.trinity.edu/tigerpaws; click on Faculty Menu and then select Advisee Approval.
  6. How can an advisor know when students are scheduled to register? The Advisor Approval screen shows the registration dates/times for all advisees.  In addition, it shows majors, classification, and credit hours.
  7. What about courses requiring consent of instructor? Instructor's consent is required. Some academic departments have opted to allow their secretaries to grant consent electronically using the Datatel system (STPE Student Petitions screen). Otherwise, students need to get the instructor's signature for such a course on a Course Restriction Waiver form and register for it in person in the Office of the Registrar.
  8. Will the system monitor enrollments and enforce prerequisites?  Yes.  Once a course has reached its capacity, students will be unable to register for it online.  Students will also be unable to register for a course unless they have fulfilled the required prerequisites stated in the Courses of Study Bulletin.

  9. Will students be able to use Electronic Waitlist for all classes?
No. E-Waitlists are set up only for those courses where academic departments/faculty opted to use the electronic waitlist feature. A Y=Yes may be found next to each published course in the schedule which indicates the course is set up on the electronic waitlist. If a “Y” is not found next to the course, then students will need to contact the Academic Department/Faculty regarding possible waitlist options if the class is closed.

  10. Will students be able to register after their assigned time period?  Students will be allowed to register beginning at their assigned date/time and ending on  the End Date shown on the Registration Status screen.  Students should check the "Registration Status" screen on TigerPAWS about two weeks prior to registration to obtain their start and end dates.
  11. Will students be able to change their registration online without further advisor approval?  Yes, unless the advisor removes the registration approval on TigerPAWS.  However, it is imperative that students consult with their Advisor prior to registering for any course that has not been specifically approved in advance.

  12. Will students and faculty be able to access the web registration module from off campus 24 hours a day?  Yes, TigerPAWS is accessible through the World Wide Web 24/7.

  1. How will students studying abroad register?  Students studying abroad have the option to register according to the procedures prescribed in the Study Abroad Manual (i.e., email, snail-mail, fax, or telephone), or they may register online at their assigned time period using TigerPAWS.  If access to the internet or differing time zones are problematic, we recommend use of the registration procedures in the manual.   Because Study Abroad students must be pre-advised by their Faculty Advisor prior to studying abroad, their advisor approval requirement will be automatically cleared by the Registrar on TigerPAWS.
