Welcome to the Religion Department!
The mission of the Religion Department is to develop, through consideration of diverse religious traditions, intellectual insight into and awareness of different ways of thinking critically about religion. Through the study of religion the Department strives to assist students in developing informed, responsible, and creative ways of enriching their own understanding of the world and of fulfilling their obligations as educated persons to the larger society in which they live.

Congratulations to the 2008-09 Ethel Evans Scholars!
The Ethel Evans Department of Religion Scholarship was established in 1978 with a bequest from the late Ethel Evans. Each year scholarships are awared to outstanding religion majors. The Ethel Evans Scholars for 2007-2008 areChelsea Averill and Alyssa Loy.
