Personal Information

William Oliver Walker, Jr., was born December 6, 1930, in Sweetwater, Texas, the son of William Oliver Walker and Frances Baker White Walker, both now deceased.  He grew up and attended public schools in Grandfalls, Texas.  He was married to Mary Scott Daugherty in 1955, and they were divorced in 1978.  He has three children (William Scott Walker of Warren, Rhode Island; Mary Evan Walker of Clark, Colorado; and Michael Neal Walker of San Antonio, Texas) and four grandchildren (Elizabeth Forbes Walker of Boston, Massachusetts; William Michael Walker of Warren, Rhode Island; Margaret Farrington Walker of Warren, Rhode Island; and Hannah Nicole Walker of San Antonio, Texas).  Having retired in 2002 after forty years at Trinity University, he lives in San Antonio, Texas, and continues his involvement as a scholar in the field of New Testament and Early Christian Studies.
