Residential Life - Programs
A
variety of programs encourage interaction among residents, promote
community,
and learning outside of the classroom. Read below to find out more
about all of the
programs offered by Residential Life.
The Residential Life Student staff members offer small
programs for their residents throughout the year. In the First Year
Area, these programs follow the REAL LIFE model geared towards helping
students acclimate to college life.
Sophomore College programs focus on service learning
opportunities, academic major exploration, study abroad programs, and
much more.
In the Upper Class Area, programs are centered around
the student's transition out of the college atmosphere. These
programs are offered in collaboration with Career Services, and the
Senior Year Experience Team and cover topics such as applying to
graduate schools, interviewing skills, networking etiquette, and career
placement. In the spring of 2009 the Residential Life Staff also
partnered with ARAMARK to offer cooking classes and with local
apartments to host an apartment fair for those interested in living in
the greater San Antonio area.

Herndon!!
Team motto: "Bad in Plaid"
Spectators of Hallympics events knew that one
thing was clear: Herndon was out for the win. After upsetting
defeats in both trivia and soccer, the team had one chance left to
clench a win. Skating past Winn on day one, Herndon narrowly
past by Calvert in the semifinal round on day two to battle a tired
McLean team in the championship game. This close scoring game
was an uphill battle for both teams, but the Herndonites (a.k.a. 'Herndonians',
'Herndomination', or simply 'those who reside in Herndon') came out
on top. Alan Castillejos, Collen Collins, Andrew Christ,
Bobbye Pyke, Brian Westfall, Caitlin Spaulding, Charlie Wlson,
Christina Saenz, Devon Rood, Devon Powers, Douglas Stiverson,
Geoffrey Cole, James Jarrott, James McClure, Joseph O'Connell,
Joseph Hilborn, Justin Kah, Kara Lee Shervanick, Megan Cubbler,

semi-finals then went on to battle Thomas in the championship game.
Thomas started off strong but fell apart in the end when the
upper-class team netted two late goals to seal the victory.
Tuesday's late night game was especially difficult for the
upper-class team as they played back-to-back matches. The
upper-class students have Mike Guerra, Phillip Wolke, Wilson Dang,
Bryan Weems, Chrissy Keith, Jordan Crabb, Vince Rodriguez, Sonia

WITT!!!
Team motto: "We do WITT better."
Fall Hallympics is off to a great start! Over 200 students
participated in the first ever Hallympics Quiz Bowl.
Representatives from all 11 teams showed up making it a tough
competition, but after 10 grueling rounds Calvert, Prassel, and Witt
were at the top. Teams answered questions about pop culture,
sports trivia, Trinity facts, world geography and more.
Members of Witt residence hall shined in the final round and
eventually took home the gold. Witt participants will receive
a free shirt and a gold medal for their efforts.
