PARKING AND REGISTRATION FEES: 1 . Annual permits: $68.00 2. Semester permits & non-Business Hour permit: $36.00 3. Replacement for a windshield permit with documentation: $14.00 4. Temporary permits issued for maximum of one month in ONE month increments: $14.00 5. An annual permit is prorated $5.30 per month on the first of each month after October 15th NOTE: No refunds for an employee and student unless the student is withdrawing from school. A student may only register one vehicle to park on campus and is not eligible for a second vehicle permit. TRAFFIC AND PARKING REGULATIONS These parking regulations are designed to provide for a safe parking and traffic environment on Trinity University and adjacent property.
SECTION. 1: GENERAL PROVISIONS 1. Parking on campus throughout the year is by permit only with parking lot restrictions for all faculty, staff and students between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (University Business Hours), Monday through Friday. After 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, PARKING for vehicles with a permit in other parking areas is authorized, unless the certain parking area/space is reserved, as indicated by posted signs). On weekends, PARKING is allowed by permit for all faculty, staff and students in any lot except for specifically posted reserved parking areas/spaces. All faculty, staff and students MUST be currently registered and the permit MUST be displayed when parking on campus. PARKING IN FIRE LANES AND IN YELLOW OR WHITE STRIPED AREAS IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. 2. Campus speed limit for roadways: 15 mph. Campus speed limit for parking lots: 5 mph. 3. Overnight parking on the upper campus between the hours of 2:00 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. is prohibited without advance permission from the Department of Campus Security except in Lot H. Upper campus overnight parking is permitted in Lot H by permit only. 4. The registration of a vehicle on campus does not guarantee a parking place but affords the registrant the opportunity to park in authorized parking areas when parking spaces are available. 5. The University is not responsible for any theft or damage loss to unoccupied or parked vehicles on University property. 6. Infractions of parking regulations are the responsibility of the person who registered the vehicle on campus. 7. Parking along a curb on campus property is prohibited unless designated by a posted sign. 8. Parking on campus property along curbs or streets against the flow of traffic is prohibited. 9. Special events may cause temporary disruption in parking arrangements on campus for persons parking registered vehicles. During those times, although parking is limited, we ask that you park in accordance with the Traffic and Parking Regulations and do not move cones/barricades. Vehicles found in violation will be fined and/or towed. SECTION 2: VEHICLE REGISTRATION All vehicles, to include motorcycles, motor scooters, and mopeds operated or parked on University property by students and University employees must be registered with the Parking and Traffic office. The "registration year" extends from September 1 through August 31. Semester and one month temporary permits are available. Expiration dates are indicated on permits. The parking and traffic office is to be contacted for special arrangements when students and employees have special parking problems (i.e. vehicle disabled, loading and unloading, etc.). To be honored, the hanging permit is to be displayed from the rear view mirror with the parking designation clearly displayed toward the front of the vehicle. For a parking decal to be honored it must be permanently affixed to the inside of the front windshield in the lower right-hand corner (passenger side of the vehicle). To apply the sticker, follow the instructions on the parking decal. To be honored a motorcycle and moped permit is to be permanently affixed to the right front outer fork tube or behind the side mirror. The parking permit must be removed from the vehicle when ownership changes. The parking and traffic office must be notified of the change in vehicle ownership. University employees and students with handicap clearance must present proper documentation at the parking and traffic office to obtain a permit for short term or long term duration. This permit allows parking in any handicapped space and any area/space that is identified as reserved parking. All persons must present a photo I.D. when registering their vehicle.
The vehicle registration form used to obtain a parking permit for the upcoming year 2008-09 is now available on line and at the Department of Campus Security. If your vehicle information should change from what was submitted on the form, contact the Department of Campus Security. You may call (210-999-7001), send an email or update your information at the issuance of your permit.

SECTION 3: PARKING Faculty / Administration (Blue permit) may park in lots C, E, F, G, L, M, Green Level, Yellow Level and in any student lot on upper campus or lower campus.
Staff (Gold permit) parking is available in all three Laurie Auditorium parking levels, and lots F,0,P,S,T,U,V,W,X,Y and Z.
Student (Maroon & Silver permit) parking is available in the Orange level of Laurie Auditorium and lots B, H, 0, P, S, T, U, V, W, X and Y.
Handicapped spaces are available in all parking levels of Laurie Auditorium and in lots C,D, E, G, P, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y and Prassel Hall loading dock.
Non-Business Hour (Orange permit) entitles the parking of the vehicle on the upper campus or in Lot V except where prohibited by sign Monday through Friday during non-business hours (5:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.) on holidays and weekends.
Visitor (White permit) parking spaces are in lots B, E, F, G, P, U, S, Z. Students and University employees may not use these spaces during posted hours, Monday through Friday.
Trinity Associate / Affiliates possessing current Associate hanging permits, may park in any student, staff, faculty or visitor parking area. They may not use handicapped or specifically reserved parking spaces. Display of a current University parking permit is not required but recommended for those persons who frequent the campus. |

APPEAL PROCESS:
If you feel that a ticket was unwarranted, you may appeal the citation violation within 14 days of the issuance of the citation at the Parking and Traffic office. Only permit holders can appeal a citation violation. Visitor may only appeal when cited for the following violations;
¨ Parking an unregistered vehicle, or failing to display permit. ¨ Parking in an unauthorized lot.
If your initial appeal is denied, there is another level of review in the appeal process for contested citations and that is through the University Committee on Traffic and Parking. Appeal forms are available and can be turned in at the Parking and Traffic office.
NOTE: Citations not paid after 14 days from date of issuance are accessed an additional $10.00 penalty.
Trinity University Police Officers are also authorized to issue Justice of the Peace citations for infractions of Texas State Law. The following fine schedules are provided for your information.
