MEET YOUR INSTRUCTORS:

 

Sgt. Edgar Castro brings to the department well over 30 years of military and civilian Law Enforcement experience. He has a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice “Cum Laude” from the American Intercontinental University of Illinois. Areas of instruction include:

Officer Mark Vallejo is a Police Instructor who is tasked with annual in-service training.  Officer Vallejo has over 15 years of law enforcement and military experience.  He has an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice Law Enforcement from El Paso College. Areas of instruction include:

RAPE AGGRESSION DEFENSE INSTRUCTORS:

 

Mr. Pete Perez Jr. is the Assistant Director for Campus Security.  He also teaches the RAD program for Trinity University.  He has a Masters Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from St. Mary’s University.  Areas of Instruction include:

                 Investigations

                 Patrol tactics

                 Criminal Prosecution (District Attorneys Office)

                 Report Writing

                 Defensive Tactics

 

Officer Sylvia Villarreal is a RAD instructor for Campus Security.  She has an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Washtenaw Community College in Michigan. Areas of instruction include:

                 Dispatch

                 Field Training

                 Report Writing

                 Defensive Tactics

                

INTER-AGENCY TRAINING:

 

Our department is also the host site for a multitude of inter-agency training and intelligence meetings.  We are proud to exhibit our commitment to education and crime prevention by networking with other law enforcement agencies.

Our department hosts interagency meetings (DWI, Gang Task Force, Investigator and Crime Prevention) that are open to all Law Enforcement agencies. Some training may include credit by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE).
