Our mission is to engage students in
learning, help them answer the question, ‘Who am I?’ and guide them
in understanding their place in the world.
Our core values influence the way in
which we operate and go about our daily work. Our policies,
practices, and programs are designed to support students in life’s
encounters and to allow us to take the time to discuss and explain
our decisions. The Trinity University Student Affairs staff shares
the following core values in fulfilling its mission to students:
-
Learning-we value student learning
in and out of the classroom by providing the freedom for
students to take risks- even if they find failure- and to apply
the lessons gleaned from those experiences.
-
Caring-we value the dignity
and uniqueness of each person, listening and responding
compassionately, and serving with a genuine spirit of warmth,
acceptance, support, and kindness.
-
Quest for Meaning-we value personal
exploration of one’s values, character, and identity on the
journey to determine the meaning and fullness of life, using
intentional reflection, application of experience, and openness
to growth and maturity.
-
Community-we value an environment in
which all are connected and interdependent, and thus we
celebrate diversity in experience and belief expressed in the
mosaic of our pluralism, as we work to develop relationships
across the campus, in San Antonio and throughout the world.
-
Responsibility-we value the
notion that all individuals are accountable for the intersection
of their choices and consequences, the development of their
fullest potential, and the enrichment of the campus and world
community.
-
The Student Experience-we value the
opportunity to work, live, play, ponder, and celebrate with our
students in this dynamic and enriching environment,
acknowledging their growth and development and sharing their joy
and sadness.
