Take on me | ||
Why won’t anyone send me questions for my column “Take on me”? Am I boring? Should I take this ill-conceived idea of mine personally? Who should be more embarrassed by this – me or the Trinitonian staff? Are students just that well-informed and happy here? Would it be shameless to try to write a column that contained only questions to role model how simple it is to just ask? Why does the Trinity sign at the main entrance by Alamo Stadium have Christmas lights behind it? What if I really wanted to write a sentence that had a colon followed by parentheses? Would I go mad trying to delete the automatic smiley face? If Reba McEntire was born in Boston or New York would people just totally laugh at the way she talks? Why is it when I go to the grocery store that I don’t want to take a stray shopping cart or one from one of the corrals? Why do I feel better about the ones lined up in the front of the store, as though they had gone through some kind of sanitizing process? Was anyone else weirded out as a kid when it turned out that all of the Winnie the Pooh characters had adult voices? In this era of modern motion-sensor towel dispensers am I the only one to have gone up to dry my hands, waving furiously, only to find that the dispenser had no sensor? Was I the only kid in America to have struck out it tee ball? Do trains have the most boring cargo of any transportation mode? Why do I spend so much time picking the little green leaf residue off the strawberries in Mabee and then turn around a build a salad? Have you ever met a kid with those wheelie shoes that you have actually like? Will they all grow up to be adults who wear the Lance Armstrong biking gear regalia? Why have I never seen a squirrel go to the bathroom? What’s all this fuss on campus about virile cats? What happens if you want to re-heat your popcorn in the microwave? Why are headphones suddenly getting bigger and back-pack straps suddenly getting smaller? Why do Target stores put their entrances and exits to the left (as you come and go)? Any questions? | ||
