Spring break during tough economic times

Perhaps it is the economy, or maybe these men are just antsy for spring break to start. The students, pictured above, were having some fun on Friday afternoon in preparation for the break – whatever it would hold for them.

More shirtless men

Keys to The Career Kingdom – Part 1
Be Targeted

One might think that in a challenging economic job market that having broad or diffuse career goals might be the best way to just “get something.”  It is true that flexibility in goal attainment is important but “fuzzy” career goals actually tend to lengthen a job search and lead to long term dissatisfaction.  Here’s why:  In any job search networking is crucial and when one is not able to identify people who are working in jobs that are similar to the type that one aspires to the tendency will be for the networking to be less effective.  Also, it is very important in any networking setting that an individual be able to answer the question “so what job are you looking for?”  The more precise the response the better the chance that one networking resource will lead to another, eventually leading to being in the right place at the right time.  The Career Services office has resources to help students from first through senior years be more targeted in setting career goals.

Micro Mail

This section features e-mails that were sent to all students since the last TrinitE newsletter. Parents are invited to micro-manage their students into reading this important information. For past due items, they are offered simply for information. By policy, students are responsible for information sent to them through e-mail, which serves as an official Trinity University communication tool -- because all students are assigned accounts. (Click on each heading to read the full e-mail.)

Where will you live next year?
Why it matters: Room reservation for returning students can be confusing. This information is sent out now to let our newest students see what is on the horizon. It is the second or third introduction of the Sophomore College and also communicates that there will be meetings and hall tours preceding the room reservation process.

Petition for Release of Residency Requirement
Why it matters: This information was sent to sophomores looking to live off campus junior year. The deadline for applying has since closed.
