We all scream for ice cream

Sophomore Lisa Petrakis gets the scoop from Trinity Alumnus Erich Menger ('66), far right, and Dave Mansen ('76), very far left, at the sophomore ice cream social on March 25. Over 150 students and alumni attended the "Meet in the Middle" program to network and give sophomores a boost as they near the half-way point of their Trinity experience. The event takes place in the middle of campus at Northrup Hall and is supported by the Sophomore College.

Keys to the Career Kingdom – Part 3

Be Proactive
The current economic environment really calls for planning on the part of students and upcoming graduates.  What are the time and resource requirements of any application process?  What are the skills and experiences needed by a given organization to make one a viable candidate?  What is the best way to gain the experience required?  What is the plan for communicating qualifications to a prospective employer or even a graduate or professional school?

All of these elements take thought and time on the part of the individual applicant.  The information gathering phase that should precede any actual application also takes time; but the better informed one is about the organization’s expectation of the applicant, the better the chances of having the right message, at the right time, to the right organization.  Career Services specializes in assisting students to develop their application plans and is available to talk with students by appointment.
