Dear Students,

 

On behalf of the Association of Student Representatives, I’d like to welcome all of you to Trinity, whether it’s for your first time or whether you’re returning! I know you’re all probably busy with your new classes and getting settled in, so I’ll try to keep this as short and sweet as possible. I want you all to know about three important things:

 

1)      Transformation: This year, ASR will be undergoing one of the most substantial changes it has ever experienced. The Student Finance Board was the campus organization that for years had been in charge of allocating funding to all of the student organizations that had applied for it, but this year, the SFB will be dissolving directly into ASR, transferring all of its responsibilities to our senators. That means that after this year, if you are a part of any chartered campus organization, your group won’t be approaching the SFB for funding, it will be approaching ASR.

 

2)      New ASR Constitution: To accommodate for this major modification, ASR has written an entirely new constitution. After the Senate has finished a final review of it in these upcoming weeks, it will present the constitution to the entire campus for a vote of ratification. Without the students’ support, this constitution will not be allowed to pass, so we’re making every effort to ensure this constitution will be the best that it can be before it is taken to a campus-wide vote.

 

3)      Positions Available in ASR: Even if you are not currently a member of ASR, you can still get involved during this time of change! Internal ASR Coordinator positions are open to any students who are interested. Positions include Secretary, Public Relations Coordinator, Treasurer, and Special Events Coordinator.
