Students,

 

When does 100+200 equal a difference? When the difference is 100 Trinity students serving as tutors and 200 serving as mentors. Paul Farmer started helping others one person at a time and so can you!  Tutor an elementary student (lunch for 30 minutes once a week, five minutes from campus) OR be a math mentor for Mark twain Middle School students (an hour a week, five minutes from campus). Your community needs you. Make the 100+200 difference! See the article on page 11 of today’s Trinitonian.

 

Mark Twain Math Tutoring

Mark Twain Middle School has a training program set-up for Saturday, September 12, 10 a.m. to noon in 114 Dicke Smith Art Building. Or, students can attend the session from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, September 14. You must attend one or the other session to participate. See the attached flier for more program details. Sign-up will take place at the info session. Please bring a completed copy of the attached  background check form to the info session if one has not already been submitted. Lamar Elementary Mentoring

Preferred times are over lunch: periods are 11:15 to 11:45 a.m. (2nd and 3rd grade); 11:30 a.m. to noon (4th and 5th grade); and 12:00 to 12:30 p.m. (kinder and 1st grade). Other times can be available on a case-by-case basis. To schedule your time, contact Kim Aston by telephone at 210 822-7823 or e-mail her at KAston@saisd.net. Drop off your completed background check at the Witt Center, note “Lamar” at the top. See the attached flier for more information.
