The Trinity University Distinguished Lecture Series
presents former President of Pakistan
PERVEZ MUSHARRAF
The
World as I See It
Thurs., September 17, 2009 | 7:30 pm | Laurie Auditorium
Occupying what
TIME
magazine described as “the most dangerous job in the
world,” Pakistan’s president from 2001-2008 Pervez
Musharraf survived two assassination attempts, rooted
out militants in his government, helped direct raids
against Al Qaeda, and was one of America’s greatest
allies in fighting the Taliban. His keen sense of
geo-strategic realities and various conflict regions
resulted in his articulation of a strategy of
“enlightened moderation” for bringing harmony into
distraught regions of the world. President Musharraf’s
astonishingly revealing memoir,
In the Line of Fire, chronicles his
struggles for the security and political future of his
nation, with high stakes for the world at large.
