Positions in Residential Life
Is your son or daughter outgoing, friendly, approachable, and charismatic? We’ve got the perfect job for them! The Residential Life Office is currently searching for dynamic candidates to join the 2009-2010 student staff. We have a host of positions available.
What does the job entail?
The Residential Life Staff (RLS) consists of Resident Mentors, Resident Assistants, and Hall Managers. All staff members work to create and foster communities in the residence halls and help with policy enforcement. Resident Mentors work in the first year area and assist students with adjustment to college by offering purposeful programs and events. They also serve as integral leaders throughout the year by assisting to educate incoming students about the multitude of resources available to them. Resident Assistants work with second year students in Sophomore College. These staff members offer large scale programs addressing the needs of second year students to help them avoid the sophomore slump. These include working with Career Services to offer panels about internship opportunities, partnering with the Study Abroad Office for talks about travel options, organizing service excursions, and more. Hall Managers work in the upper class area to build community through mixers and socials for the junior and senior classes. These staff members collaborate with various offices on campus to offer programs to upper class students to assist them with their transition out of college. These programs educate students on topics such as: interviewing skills, networking, career choices, and graduate school.
What are the perks?
In addition to a fabulously rewarding experience, RLS members are compensated with a single room for the entire academic year.
