| The purpose of a Parent Representative of the Trinity
Alumni Admissions Network is to increase awareness and knowledge of
Trinity University to prospective students in your area and provide
a personal contact for these students. In addition, as a TAN volunteer,
you serve as a connection between your community and Trinity. As TAN
volunteers, there are various opportunities to promote Trinity to prospective
students in your area.
Fall is a time of year when most college fairs occur throughout
the country. College fairs are a significant way for the University
to disseminate information about Trinity and to represent Trinity
to prospective students. Much of the material in this handbook is
dedicated to the guidelines and expectations of volunteer participation
at a fair.
Throughout the year, parent volunteers are asked to correspond with
prospective parents in various stages of the admission cycle to encourage
application to and, eventually, enrollment in Trinity. Volunteers
will receive a list of parents in their geographic area with appropriate
contact information. Volunteers are encouraged to correspond with
these parents as often as they are able.
Lastly, the Admissions Office encourages TAN volunteers to host
receptions at various times throughout the year. These parties are
a wonderful way for prospective or admitted students to meet Trinity
alumni, current parents and students from their area.
Regardless of how you choose to get involved, your help is greatly
appreciated. TAN volunteers are a valuable asset to the University
in the recruitment of new students.
